I'm glad he pointed out that spending funded through surplus OR debt is still inflationary pressure. I'm not too sure if Gittins is pro-Labor or pro-Liberal. He seems to come from a very theoretical sort of economic background - and attacks both sides of politics equally. I suppose because the economy is a rather big issue, there's more for him to comment on? And yes, I took Econ in highschool, as well as uni. I quite liked it when Labor dug into the Libs for failing to spend the money on infrastructure and education but I understand how that's easily twisted into 'If elected Labor would turn the government into a debt-ridden money-spending monster!!!!'.
